Burnt Rock Farm is hiring for the 2025 growing season!

We are a year-round farm located in the mountains of Huntington, VT, situated 35 minutes from Burlington and Middlebury, and 45 minutes from Montpelier.

We are a production-oriented farm at a community scale, growing 25 acres of organic vegetables.  We focus on fall storage crops, greenhouse tomatoes, sweet corn, and other summer field crops.  We are specialized enough to be heavily mechanized, but diverse enough to keep it interesting (and well fed).  Our operating goal is to grow a ton of food while being as easy as possible on our bodies.

We primarily serve local retail and wholesale customers, with ~80-90% of our crops sold within an hour radius of our farm.  We also run a multi-farm CSA in the summer and our own Winter CSA in the cold months.

To augment our returning staff, we are hiring a few farm crew members for the ~April/May-November time period.  There is the the potential for year-round work.  Our crew works 7-3:30 during the hotter summer months, shifting an hour later during the shoulder seasons.  Pay is competitive, and commensurate with experience.  Responsibilities will include "general vegetable farm tasks," and include assisting with greenhouse seeding, greenhouse tomato pruning/trellising, transplanting, hoeing, harvesting, wash/pack, general farm maintenance, and potentially deliveries.  Those with operating experience may have the opportunity to run some light and/or heavy equipment.

Start date is flexible at the front end of the season.  Full time (35-40 hours/wk) preferred, though part-time work can be considered for the right person.

Email justin@burntrockfarm with any questions.
