The Operations Director leads the day-to-day operations of Rural Vermont and contributes to communications and development. This dynamic position offers a satisfying mix of routine tasks, behind-the-scenes magic-making, and creativity. The ideal applicant would bring:

- bookkeeping skills;
- communications expertise;
- technical know-how;
- the ability to work independently; and,
- a sincere commitment to social, ecologic, and economic justice in agriculture (and beyond).

For the past 22 years, NODPA has moved the Field Days to different regions and states each year in order to reach as many organic dairy farm families as possible, especially when traveling long distances isn’t possible. So this year, we are excited to return to Vermont for the first time in ten years.
Registration is now open for UVM Extension's Vermont Master Composter course, designed to teach the basics of backyard composting.
The online course opens on September 2. Topics to be covered include the biology of composting, soil and decomposition ecology, site and container selection, compost "recipes," the compost process, troubleshooting, disease control, worm composting and Vermont's Universal Recycling Law (Act 148). The course runs for eight weeks and course materials will be available to participants until December 2.

A position has opened up for a full or part time team member to join our field team in harvesting our fall crops. This position could start immediately and run through Thanksgiving.
Join our friendly team as we enter peak harvest season and experience the satisfaction of feeding your local community and beyond. We work hard, have fun, and send tons of our certified organic veggies all down the East Coast. If you're interested in hands-on production work and learning more about sustainable local and regional food systems, this is the job for you!
Work schedule is Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm with paid coffee and lunch breaks. Weekend work is available but not required. Schedule can be flexible for part time work. Pay scale for this role is $13.50 - 15 per hour depending on experience, and perks include staff discount at our farm stand plus all the veggies you can eat. We prioritize providing a positive work environment, communicating clearly and respectfully, creating opportunities for growth, and taking time to celebrate our accomplishments. Our ideal team member will bring a positive attitude, an ability to do hard physical work outdoors in all weather and lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly, and have reliable transportation. Bonus points if you know how to operate a tractor and/or a manual transmission.
