The main job will be apple picking but also: wood splitting, sheep milking, pasture work, farmers markets, cider making, barn cleaning, light carpentry, plum and pear picking. Our ideal: a couple or pair of friends with some farming/carpentry experience but more important a genuine interest in farming and organic apple growing. Housing on farm. Aug 1-Nov 1.

Using Fluid Therapy to Treat Sick Cows (Zoom webinar part of Dairy Herd Health Workshop Series)

This webinar will teach about common diseases on dairy farms and how fluid therapy is a useful treatment tool. Participants will learn about the different ways to administer fluids and the supplies needed to do it correctly.

Review of the 3 calving stages and care; the normal progression of calving; how to tell when to intervene; what to know including equipment needs, determining calf’s position, appropriate assisting techniques, and when it’s time to call the vet.
