About the Position
The Farmstand and Café Leads assist the department manager in leading the retail team in the daily operations of the farmstand and cafe, making sure that everything runs smoothly and customers have the best possible experience when they shop. The Leads work closely with the Vegetable Production team, Annual & Perennial Department, and Kitchen Manager to make sure that products are displayed effectively, inventory is accurate, and staff are educated about the products. They are also the point-people for retail staff and all other department managers when the Retail Manager is not present.

The ideal candidate for this position will have leadership experience, a service-minded attitude and a friendly demeanor, and a strong interest in food, cooking, and local, organic agriculture.

Major Responsibilities:
Providing support to Farm Retail Manager in overseeing the farmstand and café operations
Assisting with supervision and training of retail staff
Tracking product inventory, including supplies for the farmstand and café; placing orders on a weekly basis and as needed
Addressing customer service issues and escalating them to the Farm Retail Manager when necessary
Assisting with the POS system; troubleshooting issues and being proactive about inventory management
Setting up farmstand displays and merchandising to optimize profitability
Following food safety protocols
Answering questions about the products we sell, our growing practices, CSA, education programs, and farm policies. Directing customers to other departments or administrative staff to get their questions answered in a timely manner.

Farmstand duties include:
Setting up, breaking down, and restocking produce displays
Receiving and stocking merchandise
Assisting customers with CSA signups. Setting up and adding value to CSA Cards, with the help of the Outreach and Engagement Coordinator
Answering the phones as needed and distributing messages

Hello Café duties include:
Preparing hot and cold coffee and espresso drinks, teas and lemonades
Serving baked goods
Communicating with the Farm Kitchen to keep baked goods stocked
Stocking and keeping track of inventory

Qualifications:
Required Skills or Experience
At least 1 year of experience in a leadership role, ideally in a retail setting
Proven experience training and motivating staff
Problem solving, troubleshooting, and thinking on your feet in a retail setting
Proven ability to lead and motivate others
Strong communication skills with customers, coworkers, and staff
Strong organization skills; observant and detail oriented
Problem solving, troubleshooting, and thinking on your feet in a retail setting

Desired Skills or Experience
Knowledge of food retail, especially produce and coffee
A good aesthetic sense and the ability to create visually appealing retail displays
Inspirational attitude; proven ability to create a motivating environment
Cafe/Barista experience is a huge plus!

Compensation
This is a seasonal position, 30-40 hours per week from mid-April through October, with part-time hours in November and December. The Farmstand and Café Lead is an hourly position with benefits including sick time accrual, fresh produce, and a discount to our farmstand. Salary is $18-19/hr, depending on experience and qualifications.

About the Position
The role of the Education Lead is to assist in developing, managing, and facilitating our agriculturally and ecologically focused youth, family, and adult education programs. There is a strong focus on developing and delivering lessons and activities for our farm programs, of which our most popular is our summer camp.

Responsibilities
Development and implementation of new and existing programs in conjunction with the Education Programs Manager (homeschool classes, preschool classes, family programs, teen cooking classes, summer camp, adult workshops, etc.)
Working with the Education Programs Manager to create seasonal program curriculum, including lesson plans and educational materials for programs
Planning, implementation, and maintenance of the Education Garden throughout the season
Serving as Assistant Director during the 9 weeks of summer day camp
Working with the Education Manager to train seasonal education staff prior to the start of youth programs
Managing the Teen Counselor program for summer camp
Supervising and supporting seasonal education staff and volunteers to ensure programs run smoothly
Providing a positive experience for parents or caretakers of children participating in youth programs
Collaborating with other departments at Cedar Circle Farm to lead or coordinate educational community programs
Assisting the organization in hosting fundraisers and events
Representing Cedar Circle Farm & Education Center at recruitment events, camp fairs, etc.

Qualifications
1-2 years of experience as an educator, in a classroom or outdoor setting
Additional experience in a related field, or combination of work experience and coursework
Experience developing curriculum and teaching about farming, ecology, or related subjects preferred
Enjoy building relationships with learners of all ages, from preschool through adults
Be inclusive and embrace diversity of all learners
Be proactive and self-motivated
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills in professional and educational settings
Be detail oriented and competent in balancing multiple projects and deadlines
Farm or garden experience preferred
Be comfortable working outdoors–rain or shine!

Compensation
Hourly rate is $17-$18 per hour, depending on experience. Benefits include health benefits (50% of the group premium is employer paid), paid time off, access to farm produce, and 20% off at the farmstand and cafe.

Rebop Farm, a diversified livestock farm, is hiring a full time, hourly summer employee to work on the summer crew. Pay based on experience, starting at $16/hr.

Responsibilities of the role:

-Shared daily barn/non dairy animal chores
-Dairy room work, bottling milk, washing bulk tank and maintaining clean, sanitary and functional workspace
-General farm work, including but not limited to fence moving, weed whacking, animal care, pasture maintenance

About us:

Rebop Farm is a small, diversified, grass based, and primarily organic practice livestock and dairy operation in Brattleboro, Vermont. We focus on producing high quality products using intensive rotational grazing practices, interspecies grazing, and systems stacking. Year round, we manage a small herd of Jersey dairy cows for raw milk production, as well as a 55 ewe, avg 100 lamb flock of Katahdin sheep, bee hives, 500 tap sugar bush, and seasonally produce 1700 mixed poultry, and 80 feeder pigs. We slaughter 1000 poultry on-farm yearly. We believe that these systems and diversity of animals allow us to be better stewards of our soils and watershed; of our animals’ health and well being, and ultimately, the health of our customers and the community we feed.

Our products are distributed through a raw milk and meat CSA, restaurant accounts, and an on-farm retail store that we stock with our products, as well as over 90 other farms’, bakers, and specialty food producers’ products. The farm also maintains a small event space that hosts farm dinners, concerts, workshops, and provides space for other organizations to hold events.

We are a small, diversified livestock farm in Shoreham, Vermont raising beef, lamb and broiler chickens. We also operate a micro dairy with a farmstead creamery. The farm hand would be responsible for daily chores which include: milking, feeding the calves, feeding and rotating the broiler chickens, rationally grazing beef and dairy cattle as well as sheep.

Opportunities to work and learn go beyond daily chores and include: making hay, equipment repair, sawmilling, dairy processing, chicken processing and farm business management.
