Hello,
I am looking for a good home for my milking cow and her calf.
Fedora is a 4-year-old Jersey and has a 3 month old bull calf, Ferdinand. They are both healthy, kind and loving. He is her second calf. They are both A2A2 Jerseys and have a completely grass/hay diet. Fedora was bred AI to sire 7je1874 McComb, an A2A2 Jersey.
Ferdinand has drank from Fedora since birth. I also milked her by hand for the first 2 months and now just milk 1x/week to get enough milk for my family; otherwise, she is feeding Ferdinand. He is strong and healthy. Milking would not be mandatory; however, if someone wants to milk, she is producing enough and there are many way you could work with both of them for that.
He is disbudded and we plan to castrate him, though if someone wants a bull we can forgo that.
Fedora made about 40#/4-5 gallons per day last cycle. Her milk has beautiful butterfat. She is trained to milking and stands very well.
I am looking for a new home for them because I have over extended myself in all the other aspects of life and find that I don't have the time I want to be with my livestock.
I am not in a rush to sell them. I have enough hay for this winter. If someone would like them this winter, I can also sell the hay, all which are square bales, to them.
Thank you,
Sara Bachman
