New Village Farm (Shelburne, VT) is excited to offer a new two-part workshop around cob oven construction.
Join us on Sundays, May 19 & May 26th, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm to learn how to build your own earthen bread and pizza oven from clay and sand. We will explore the entire construction process from foundation to roof, and spend the days building a simple, functional, beautiful earthen oven. This workshop includes hands-on construction, lecture, and presentations covering building fundamentals that include siting, design, structure, moisture protection, materials selection, heating and insulation. The weekend workshop will be lead by educator, grower, and ecological designer Mark Krawczyk of New Haven, VT. You can learn more about him and his work at keylinevermont.com and valleyclayplain.com.
This program is geared towards adults and mature teens. If you have a child under 15 who would like to come, please let us know.
