Are you interested in alternative land access and tenure, and alternative business structures? Join NOFA-VT and guest presenters from around the country and Canada for a monthly discussion exploring alternative land access models and business structures. Each month, we’ll hear from an agricultural project actively engaged in land access or land tenure outside of conventional mechanisms, with a specific focus on first-generation, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ farmers and land stewards.
Hi all! We used to make food at farmers markets but we no longer do. We have some great stuff for sale at a reasonable price such as a hot water heater, tents, grills, tables, sand bags, etc. If you are interested please reach out. We are located in the NNE of Burlington. Thanks!
We invite young adults ages 20–32 to apply for a 10-day Village Building experience at Living Tree Alliance this fall. This immersive program brings Earth-based Jewish principles and regenerative agriculture to life through hands-on learning and community engagement.
Fellows will help us prepare for our 13th annual Sukkot on the Farm festival—our annual harvest celebration—that takes place Oct. 10–11. The festival is known for its meaningful land-based projects, good food, learning, and restful time in the natural world. Fellows will also engage in meaningful land-based projects, participate in educational workshops about Earth-based Judaism, and find restful time in nature.
Throughout the program, you will learn how to organize a festival using the Art of Mentoring Acorn model, participate in the harvest, discover food-preservation techniques, work with youth using place-based education, and engage in workshops teaching about the intersection between the Jewish calendar and New England seasons. Fellows will also have opportunities to hike and bike in the world renowned beautiful Mad River Valley in Vermont.
Fellows will immerse themselves in communal living: cooking and eating meals together and sharing living space in the Common House, which is equipped with a full kitchen, laundry, one and a half baths, and plenty of sleeping space. It is situated centrally at Living Tree Alliance, with immediate access to a fire pit, the farm, hiking trails, and swimming spots. Fellows are encouraged to take advantage of the beautiful, autumnal Vermont region during their free time!
