THE CLIMATE ENCAMPMENT
OCTOBER 17-19, 2019
VERMONT STATE HOUSE GROUNDS
This un-permitted civil rights occupation of the statehouse grounds was proposed by a 15 year old. She and her team, the Youth Action Alliance, are trying to get tons of youth and community members to come together for this act of movement unity and intersectional power. They are highlighting the frontlines of migrants, farmers, and youth, demonstrating that they understand that we need one big movement to deal with the crisis of their lives. Do we get it? We have to show up when they call, right? Can we work together on the brass tacks of creating a survivable agricultural economy for ourselves and all the new neighbors we expect in our brave little state? That is just what we're being asked to do. I think yes, we can.
Please come spend a day or two us, and come camp out on the statehouse lawn. Celebrate the harvest, build the friendships we all need for our uncertain future, and be part of acknowledging that we're all in this together, and that we're going to work together to make it through.
