Fledgling Farmstead

About the Farm

Fledgling Farmstead is a diverse family farm operating on 190 acres in the hills of Tunbridge. While we are not certified, our practices are organic. We manage about 1 acre of bio-intensive gardens for summer and fall CSA shares and local farmers markets. Our farm is also home to a small flock of mixed-breed sheep raised for fleece and meat, a small herd of Guernsey cows raised for milk and meat, and a flock of layer hens. These animals are rotationally grazed on our hilly pasture. Our beef and lamb is 100% grass fed. In addition to the grass and insects they harvest, our chickens are fed a non-GMO feed, food scraps from the veggie operation, and skim milk from our dairy whenever available. CSA members can purchase retail meat and eggs when they pick up their CSA bag at the farm or other local pick up sites. Our farm is also home to a growing educational and arts center, hosting workshops and Fledge Fest, an annual music and arts festival taking place this year on August 9 and 10.
