Meet with other farmers and agriculture professionals to plan a community project that will strengthen farm resilience in the Northeast Kingdom. Participants will engage in a group discussion and activity to gain clarity on the impacts of flooding on farms in the Northeast Kingdom and appropriate strategies for planning and response. Based on these discussions, the research team at the Agricultural Marketing Resource Center (a national organization that supports farm communities) will analyze the information and plan a follow-up action planning session to finalize the community project plan and prioritize the next steps. The planning group will receive $22,500 to fund the project.

These discussions will be facilitated by the Agricultural Marketing Resource Center in partnership with NOFA-VT.

Farmers and food producers may request a $75 stipend to support their attendance at this event. Email Kacey to request the stipend.

Who these workshops are for: Farmers and food producers.

What to expect: Participants will engage in a tabletop exercise to better understand flood impacts and will explore appropriate strategies for mitigation planning and response. The group will then engage in open discussion to explore changes needed to address flooding based on farmers' experiences in the region. Based on these discussions, the research team will analyze the information and plan a follow-up action planning session to finalize the community project plan and prioritize the next steps. The planning group will receive $22,500 to fund the project. There is no commitment for continued participation in future action planning meetings, but all participants are welcome to remain engaged in the development and implementation of the action plan, if interested.

Food: Light fare will be provided.

Children: Children are welcome to attend.

Accessibility needs: Accessibility needs and requests? Reach out to Kacey. We want everyone to have what they need to be able to participate!
