About Retreat Farm:
Retreat Farm is a nonprofit organization that connects people with the working landscape through local food, place-based education, and recreation. The Farm is an important public resource – with an eight-building historic farmstead, 170 acres of forests, 230 acres of farm fields, a 70-acre aquatic cove at the confluence of the Connecticut and West rivers, and 10 miles of hiking trails. Retreat Farm uses these resources to promote community well-being. The organization holds a popular weekly food truck gathering, leases farmland to a local organic dairy, provides land for community gardens, makes its property available for boating, biking, hiking, ice fishing, and skating activities, and hosts a wide range of outdoor events, including concerts, fairs, outdoor ballets, and exhibitions by local nonprofits, agencies, and businesses. Retreat Farm has also operated a Community Food Program that has grown and distributed food to hundreds of food-insecure families; that program may evolve into a separate, affiliated program.
Retreat Farm believes that employees from diverse backgrounds are critical to achieving its goals. The organization seeks to recruit, develop, and retain staff who reflect the diverse communities it serves. All candidates who meet the qualification requirements are encouraged to apply.
Retreat Farm is an Equal Opportunity Employer that does not discriminate based on race, color, gender, religion, ethnic or national origin, citizenship, age, disability, marital status, or sexual orientation.
