Vermont Compost Company’s mission is to enhance and protect the soil, to help restore community food security. Based in Montpelier, VT, Vermont Compost Company has been making and supplying premium compost and soils to professional growers across the country for over 30 years, and all ingredients used in our products have been approved for certified organic production.

We are seeking an experienced Front End Loader Operator to join our team. The Front End Loader Operator is a member of the compost operations team and plays a critical role in the creation of our compost-based products. 

The Front End Loader Operator will participate in moving compost feedstock, building and turning compost windrows, and transporting compost for production in a safe and efficient manner.  Additional duties may be assigned as needed. Success in this role will require 5 years of front end loader experience, the ability to work effectively in a team environment, and a willingness to work in various weather conditions.

Preferred qualifications for this position include five years of experience operating an excavator and knowledge of compost making practices. 

This is a full-time position with an pay range of $20 - $25  per hour plus a generous benefits package including health, dental and vision insurances; a Simple IRA retirement plan with company match; short and long-term disability insurance; life insurance; an Employee Assistance Program; employee-pricing; and paid time off.

The position is based in Montpelier, VT and most work will be performed during regular business hours, Monday - Friday; work outside of regular business hours will occasionally be required.
