The 2024 Vermont Farmers Market Conference is coming up! We will once again gather at Vermont Law & Graduate School in South Royalton for a day of learning and networking with other farmers market organizers, board members and vendors.

This year's conference will take place on Monday, March 18th, from 9:00 - 4:00 with an optional gathering afterwards to keep the conversations going.

As well as our annual report, updates from state regulatory agencies and plenty of networking time to talk with folks from other markets, workshops will include:

  • EBT technology and Crop Cash Report - Johanna Doren, NOFA-VT
  • Employment and Volunteer Law - Wendy Chen, Vermont Law & Graduate School
  • Conflict Resolution - Jimmy DeBiasi, Maine Federation of Farmers Markets
  • Farmer Vendor Panel - Rose Thackeray, Union Brook Farm; Margaret Loftus, Crossmolina Farm; Jeremy Tonachel-Read, Birdsong Farm

Farmers markets are integral to our thriving local food system, and serve as important small business incubators. The annual VT Farmers Market Conference brings together market managers, organizers, vendors, and community members from across the state for a full day of education, resource-sharing, and networking. The conference offers resources and information from service providers, state agencies, and fellow market organizers. To stay informed about what is going on with farmers markets in Vermont, make sure that your market email address is subscribed to the VTFMA listserv.

This conference is sponsored by a USDA AMS Farmers Market Promotion Program grant and the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food, & Markets.
