Young farmer with established vegetable operation looking for short or longer term land opportunity. Currently farming about 5 acres on 3 different parcels throughout Rutland County. All on one year leases without the ability to get a long term deal. Currently selling through 1 year long farmers market and 2 summer markets locally. We are currently exploring options into getting into Green Markets down in NYC. We also sell to many wholesale accounts throughout the state of Vermont and have one larger wholesale account in NYC to NATOORA growing specialty crops for them.
Looking for a place within Rutland, Addison, Windsor, Bennington, Windham, Washington, or Orange County. Ideally looking for a spot with 20 acres of good vegetable production soil, access to water, ability to put up infrastructure ( greenhouses, high tunnels, wash/pack station), housing would also be nice. Looking for at least a 5 year lease or longer.
