West Farm is a 12-acre organic vegetable farm in Jeffersonville, Vermont on leased land conserved by Vermont Land Trust. Our operation encompasses a CSA program, local wholesale accounts, as well as specialty crops for larger regional wholesale markets. We are committed to positive land management through reduced tillage as well as an intensive fertility program to produce the highest quality pest and disease resistant crops we can.
We are seeking people with a positive attitude and good energy to join us for the following positions for the 2024 season:
Assistant Manager
This position will be responsible for working directly with the farm owner to manage day to day tasks and assisting in directing and supervising the crew.
Applicant must have 3+ years of experience in vegetable production. Work begins in April and goes through November full time with the potential for part time winter work. Must be able to commit to 50-60 hours a week May through September. Applicant must have some experience with machinery (small engines and tractors). Construction and mechanical skills a plus. Pay is $20/hour or more depending on experience and skills.
Field Crew
Starting part/full time in April, full time May through October. May be necessary to work up to 50 hours at times in June through September. Work encompasses, field prep, planting, weeding, harvest, washing and packing. Pay is $18/hour.
