Full Moon Farm is in out 25th year of certified organic farming! This is our 15th season at this location and we are looking for a few team members to help us continue on our journey to provide, safe, healthy, food to as many members of our community as possible.
Job Description:
FT, Seasonal Field Production Assistant or Manager, depending on experience
35-50 hours/week April - December
winter work is available for the right candidate
Pay range: $17-$22/hour, plus vegetables and employee discount on organic eggs, pork and chicken
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate tractors and other equipment. Tractor work includes tilling, bed prep, mowing, laying plastic, cultivation, using various implements (forks, flame-weeder, bed-lifter, transplanter and cultivation equipment)
- Assist with equipment maintenance and care
- Assist with high-tunnel set-up and maintenance
- Set up and run irrigation system as needed
- Meet with and communicate with Field Manager, Greenhouse Manager and Harvest team to ensure proper timing of events
- Must be willing to do any job on the farm, especially to cover for someone who is sick or needs a break. This might include, but is not limited to the jobs of: hand-weeding, hoeing, covering, harvesting, washing, packing, raking, painting, sign-making, cleaning pens, washing eggs, helping out at market or CSA, etc
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 2 years prior experience with equipment operation on a similar scale (15-20 acres)
- Must possess strong problem-solving skills
_ Must be in good, physical health
- Must be able to work well as a team and possess good communication skills
