Sweetland’s Vegetable Production Manager is the driving force behind our primary farm enterprise; growing high-quality produce on 12 acres of prime, sustainably-farmed soils. The VP-Manager is responsible for all aspects of planning, growing, and harvesting a season’s worth of vegetables for our 350-member CSA, thriving farm stand, and farmers’ market.
Sweetland Farm is a highly diversified family farm in Norwich, Vermont. We produce 12 acres of sustainably grown vegetables, 1,000 broiler chickens and turkeys, 25 pasture-raised pigs, over 10,000 bales of feed hay, 2 acres of ecologically managed tree fruits, and forest products from a 100-acre woodland. Sweetland is known for high quality and bountiful vegetables, a welcoming and engaging CSA, healthy pasture-raised meats, and thoughtful care of the land and environment.
We aim to create an engaging, interesting, and upbeat workplace for our farm team while feeding our local community and caring for the land. Our diversified, whole-landscape approach to farming provides a stimulating work environment where employees work on a wide range of tasks over the season. Our growing philosophy is that we are a “thinking farm”; focused on continuous improvement in our growing practices and the experiences of our employees and customers.
