The City of Montpelier Parks and Trees Department is hiring a Community Conservation Coordinator!
This position involves building trails, growing food for the City's meals on wheels program, and maintaining Montpelier's urban forest. The coordinator will learn skills in trail building, farming, event planning, forestry, arbory, and youth leadership. It is perfect for someone who loves outdoor physical work as well as community-building.
This is a full-time (40 hrs/wk for 48 wks) AmeriCorps position in collaboration with the Vermont Housing and Conservation Board (VHCB). Members will receive a living allowance of $25,500 (pre-tax) plus an education award of $6,495 (also pre-tax) upon successful completion of service. This position also includes a wide variety of training and conference opportunities, such as Game of Logging chainsaw certifications.
