UVM Extension’s Northwest Crops & Soils Program and NOFA Vermont’s Organic Dairy and Livestock Technical Assistance Program are pleased to invite you to the 8th Annual  2018 Vermont Organic Dairy Producers Conference!

We will start the day hearing information and personal farmer experiences on financial basics for organic dairies. Andy Wood, an agricultural loan officer, will lead the discussion and we will also hear from farmers Christine Brown and Rhonda Miller Goodrich about financial tips and recordkeeping for financial success. After lunch, Organic Valley’s Amber Brown will talk about improving milk quality as one way to add additional dollars to our milk checks. A panel of farmers, including Karen Bathalon and Brendan Schreindorfer, will discuss their daily milking and milkhouse routines that keep milk quality high. We will then hear about bedded pack management strategies from Brian Jerose of Agrilab Technologies, as well as bedded pack research from John Barlow and Tucker Andrews from UVM. The day will also include the latest updates on organic dairy research projects including information on grass milk, annual forages, and supplementation.
