The NCAT Northeast Office has enlisted Shane LaBrake to conduct a training on tractor operations, safety, and maintenance in Troy, New Hampshire at the Inn at East Hill Farm on October 8-9. The cost for the two-day, hands-on training is $50, which includes lunches, snacks, and training materials. Spots are limited and only available to specialty crop producers.

The deadline to apply is Monday, September 23, 2019, at 5 p.m. EDT.To register, head to www.ncat.org/tractor/

LaBrake’s training style is to educate and empower current and future users of agricultural tractors and farm equipment. This class will discuss how tractors are designed to work; how to operate them safely and effectively; and how to perform regular and basic maintenance tasks. Funding for this training is provided through a Specialty Crop Block Grant by the New Hampshire Department of Agriculture, Markets and Food.

Attendees are responsible for their travel to and from the event. Those wishing to spend the night at the Inn at East Hill Farm will need to make their own arrangements. Registration is first come, first served and limited to specialty crop growers (vegetables, fruits and tree nuts, culinary and medicinal herbs, floriculture and nursery crops, Christmas trees, and honey crops).
