Crop Cash DouBles 3SquaresVT Benefits SPENT at Farmers Markets, helping households purchase more fresh produce from area farmers!
In the summer of 2015 a new currency began circulating throughout farmers markets in Vermont. This currency, called Crop Cash, is the double value coupon incentive program promoting the purchase of fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs at farmers markets that accept 3SquaresVT/SNAP benefits via EBT cards. In essence, Crop Cash is an incentive dollar that is earned for SNAP purchases for use on the future purchase of fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs, seeds, and starts.
Working with Wholesome Wave and farmers markets across the state, NOFA-VT developed the Crop Cash Program to allow the 85,000 Vermonters currently receiving 3SquaresVT funds to turn $10 of their 3SquaresVT into $20 in food every time they visit the farmers market.
