BAKER (FOR NOFA-VT'S MOBILE OVEN)

 SUMMER VT FEED INTERN

About VT FEED - NOFA-VT is a partner in Vermont Food Education Every Day (VT FEED), a statewide Farm to School project that provides food, farming and nutrition education programs in classrooms, cafeterias and communities. This multifaceted “3-C” model improves student knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors towards healthy eating and serves as a catalyst for rebuilding healthy food systems.

Position Description -  Reporting to Amy Gifford, the VT FEED intern will assist in building support for summer meals sites around local purchasing and nutrition education. In addition, the intern will assist in the planning and conducting of the Farm to School Institute, farm to school workshops at the Child Nutrition Programs Summer Institute, and a culinary boot camp. All interns participate in our outreach program by staffing the NOFA-VT pizza oven at statewide farm and food events, providing Vermonters with an opportunity to learn about NOFA-VT and organic/local foods. GARDEN INTERN 2015

 The garden intern assists with all aspects of planting, caring for, and harvesting food from the NOFA-VT raised bed garden. She/he will also be responsible for developing and coordinating activities at the garden and at local farms with children and youth groups and with food pantries for harvest, need and deliveries.  In addition, all interns participate in our summer outreach program by staffing the NOFA-VT pizza oven at statewide farm and food events, providing Vermonters with an opportunity to learn about NOFA-VT and organic/local foods.
