Thanks for your interest in working for NOFA Vermont!
VT FEED/Jr Iron Chef Internship
Vermont Food Education Every Day (VT FEED), a statewide Farm to School project that provides food, farming and nutrition education programs in classrooms, cafeterias and communities, seeks a self-motivated, creative and reliable intern. This intern will assist both the Jr Iron Chef Coordinator and an Americorps member with the planning for, execution of, and follow up to the 8th annual Jr Iron Chef competition. Jr Iron Chef VT is a statewide culinary competition that challenges teams of middle and high school students to create healthy, local dishes that inspire school meal programs. VT FEED and the Burlington School Food Project will be hosting the 8th annual Jr Iron Chef VT (JIC) event on March 21, 2015.
The intern will also be expected to attend the NOFA-VT Winter Conference (February 13-15, 2015 at the University of Vermont) and support NOFA-VT staff projects throughout the conference. There are many different ways for the intern to provide support at the conference, depending on the intern’s skills and interest in different topics.
Tasks include participation in planning meetings, communication with teams and supporters, conducting research on the Jr Iron Chef movement around the country, updating the JIC website with timely information, preparing materials for the event, working at the event in March, and providing follow-up support in the way of thanking supporters and evaluating the event.
