On-Farm Volunteering: The Farm at VYCC

Thursday, October 15, 2020 - 9:00am to 12:00pm

Join the NOFA-VT community at the Farm at Vermont Youth Conservation Corps (VYCC) in Richmond for a morning of hands-on fall projects. In addition to the satisfaction of fall garlic planting, the Food & Farm Team at VYCC, will share information about their participation in growing crops for the Abenaki Land Link, a collaborative projects of NOFA-VT, the Nulhegan Band of Coosuk - Abenaki Nation and The Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund. This project provides indigenous seeds to over a dozen gardeners, homesteaders, and farmers around Vermont who have dedicated land to grow and harvest food for Abenaki citizens this growing season.

The number of volunteer signs up are limited and folks will be spread out amongst different parts of the farm in order to follow social distancing protocols. Please bring garden gloves, water, snacks and a mask for using the facilities, and wear closed-toed shoes. All work will take place outside. This volunteer opportunity is eligible for City Market member workers hours.
