On-Farm Volunteering: Bread & Butter Farm

Wednesday, September 30, 2020 - 1:00pm to 4:00pm

Join the NOFA-VT community on the farm at Bread & Butter Farm in Shelburne for an afternoon of hands-on fall projects. In addition to the satisfaction of prepping garden beds for next season and mulching open ground, farmer/owner at Bread & Butter Corie Pierce, and her hardworking crew, will share more about the farm's latest project to build a community-supported land commons in collaboration with the Vermont chapter of Agrarian Trust that centers land for regenerative food production, land equity and and access for the next generation of farmers.

The number of volunteer signs up are limited and folks will be spread out amongst different parts of the farm to in order to follow social distancing protocols. Please bring garden gloves, water, snacks and a mask for using the facilities, and wear closed-toed shoes. While community tools are available, folks are also encouraged to bring their own garden rakes and pitchforks for individual use. All work will take place outside. This volunteer opportunity is eligible for City Market member workers hours.
