Conservation District Manager
Franklin County Natural Resources Conservation District, St. Albans. This is a working management position, responsible both for overseeing the direction, collaborations, finances and personnel of the District, as well as for carrying out conservation-related deliverables and projects on-the-ground. Applicants should have a strong commitment to agriculture and conservation issues; have an interest in how State water quality funds are spent to achieve pollution reduction targets; be highly organized; build effective relationships; be a self-starter able to work independently; and be a team-player eager to build on the effective, intersecting work of partner organizations and individuals. Diverse tasks include grant-writing and project administration; budget management; public education and communication; limited field work; managing a spring tree sale; providing technical assistance and program referrals to farms; planning and implementing tree planting projects; and collaboratively supervising/supporting the two other members of the District team. Due to the annual cycle of much of the work and the importance of networking and relationships, the District seeks a candidate interested in at least four years in the position.
