Tractor Cultivation Tools for Diversified Production

July 26, 2012 - 4:00pm - 6:00pm

Tractor cultivation can eliminate long hours weeding and hoeing, and can substantially increase farm profitability. Richard Wiswall will demonstrate two different cultivating tractors and 3-point hitch tools such as a tine weeder, flame weeder, and rear toolbars. Richard has been growing produce for 31 years at the certified organic Cate Farm in Plainfield, selling locally and through Deep Root Organic Growers Co-op. Known for his work on farm profitability and appropriate business tools, Wiswall serves as a NOFA-VT farmer mentor, and writes and speaks frequently on organic-farm business issues. He authored The Organic Farmer’s Business Handbook, published by Chelsea Green.
