Preserving the Summer Garden & Homestead Tour (NOFA-VT Summer Workshop Series Event)

This workshop will focus on canning, freezing, and dehydration techniques, with Margaret Osha and Melissa Komorowski of Turkey Hill Farm. We will learn which vegetable varieties make the best choices for each method of food preservation. We will demonstrate step-by-step canning and freezing, and finish with a tour of the homestead, including a raw milk micro-dairy, meat animals, vegetables, maple syrup and the Moo-tique, the farm store where all these products (and more!) are sold. Please bring a notebook.

Directions to 55 Turkey Hill Rd, Randolph: Exit 4 off 1-89. East on RT 66, take a left at Vermont Technical College, go past Floyd's Store and Post Office. Take the first Left towards Brookfield called Ridge Road ( Road is not marked). Follow this road for about 1/2 mile and take the first right called North Randolph Rd., follow this dirt road for about 7/10's of a mile to a four way intersection, you will be at Neighborly Farms, turn right onto Curtis Road, this will take you right by a little white farmhouse. Go up the hill about 3/10's of a mile and you will see our pasture, raw milk sign and three mailboxes. Take a right onto Turkey Hill Road, our driveway is the first left.
