Organic Weed Control

July 18, 2012 - 5:00pm - 7:00pm

In this workshop and on farm demonstration, vegetable grower Geo Honingford will present his approach to developing a weed management strategy on his farm, including how to tailor cultivation equipment to production needs, budget, and labor constraints. Hurricane Flats is a diversified, certified organic produce farm located on 37 beautiful acres nestled along the banks of the White River in South Royalton, Vermont. They have eight acres in cultivation each growing season, operate three greenhouses, and grow a mix of about 50 different fruits, vegetables, herbs, berries, popcorn, and hay.

Directions:

I-89 exit 2, take a left off the ramp

In 100 meters take a right at stop sign on to Route 14

In ¼ mile take left onto first road/bridge on left (Back River Road) for 3.5 miles and you’ll see a big field on the right. We are in the big red barn at the end of the field (look for the greenhouse lights), park in the field or around the greenhouse.
