Home Dairying Day & NOFAvore Social (NOFA-VT Summer Workshop Series Event)

Join Lindsay Harris of Family Cow Farmstand in Hinesburg for Home Dairying Day! We will tour Lindsay’s raw milk micro dairy, discuss basic elements of keeping a family cow using organic practices, and get to work processing milk. Lindsay will walk us through some simple recipes, including mozzarella and ricotta cheeses, yogurt, and fromage blanc. Please bring a container so you can take home samples! Participants may stay to watch a milking and take a farm tour from 4-5. We’ll use the freshly-made mozzarella to top pizzas at the NOFAvore social starting at 5pm!

Directions to 2386 Shelburne Falls Road, Hinesburg: In Hinesburg at the intersection of VT Route 116, CVU Road and Shelburne Falls Rd, take Shelburne Falls Rd for 2.5 miles. Look for 4 greenhouses on the right. Our driveway is 100 feet south east of (before) Red Wagon's. Look for a round "Family Cow Farmstand" sign.
