Herbal Medicine: From Garden to Teas (NOFA-VT Summer Workshop Series Event)

This is the ideal class for those curious about using herbal home remedies who aren’t sure how to get started, or want to learn a bit more. We’ll begin with a discussion of safe and effective use of simple herbs, then we’ll take a walk in the beautiful gardens to meet and gather some of these herbs. Class will conclude with demonstrations of herbal tea preparation and the basics of herbal vinegar, oil, or tincture making. Drying and storing your harvest will also be covered. Please bring a chair, a notebook, and a snack if you would like. Rain date: Monday, August 16, 5:30-8:30pm.

Directions to Gardens of Seven Gables Farm, Barre:

From Barre City, take Route 302 East up hill to the light at Hill Street. Turn left on Hill Street, go approximately 1.1 mile and bear right at the 'Y' onto Sierra Lavin. Go .9 miles and look for Gardens of Seven Gables farm on the left.

Parking: There is a small parking lot before you get to the house, another parking spot to the left of the house, or along Anderson Road.
