Digging Deep: On-Farm Soil Management (NOFA-VT Summer Workshop Series Event)

September 15, 2010 - 4:00pm - 6:00pm

Thomas Case and Ben Dana of Arethusa Farm took the NE-SARE funded Digging Deep: An Advanced Soils Course for Vegetable Growers this past winter. Join UVM Extension Vegetable and Berry Specialist Vern Grubinger, UVM Extension Agronomist Heather Darby, and NOFA-VT’s Vegetable and Fruit Advisor Wendy Sue Harper as Thomas and Ben show us how they have applied what they learned about soil fertility management, and cover crops, and production strategies. Arethusa Farm grows mixed veggies with a focus on mesclun, carrots and squash. This workshop is sponsored in part by Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (NE-SARE). A potluck will follow; please bring a dish to share and something to grill!
