Cut Flower Management for Commercial Production &NOFAvore Social
Cedar Circle Farm & Education Center is a 40 acre farm growing primarily certified organic vegetables, berries, grains and legumes. One of their specialties is organic flower production. In this workshop they share their secrets for a variety of topics, including diversifying markets, early greenhouse production, pick-your-own management, bouquet CSA, event flowers, season extension, seed and variety selections, production planning, and maintaining blooms. Hosted by Megan Baxter, production manager at Cedar Circle Farm. The NOFAvore social to follow will feature products from Cedar Circle Farm. From I-91: Take Exit 14 for Thetford. Turn east on Highway 113 and go one mile to village of East Thetford and intersection of Route 5. Turn right (south) on Route 5. Just past the Mobil station, bear left at the Cedar Circle Farm sign onto Pavillion Road. Cross the railroad tracks, go 1/4 mile, and the farm is on the left.
From Norwich, VT/Hanover, NH: Go north on Route 5 approximately nine miles from Norwich. Watch for the large red barn on your right. Immediately after, look for a Vermont road sign for Cedar Circle Farm. Just past the sign, turn right across the railroad tracks onto Pavillion Road. Go 3/4 mile, the farmstand is on your right.
Parking: Pull in to the yellow house driveway next to the farmstand. Drive past the barn and go left down in to our fields. Look for the cars to your left, by the bees.
