Biodiversity For Sugarbush Health (NOFA-VT Summer Workshop Series Event)

September 16, 2010 - 9:00am - 12:00pm

Biodiversity includes many aspects of the sugarbush, including species and structural diversity. These can be measured by the species found on the forest floor to the canopy and may include both plant and animal species. Join Nancy Patch, Vermont county forester, to discuss ways to maintain and manage for a diverse and productive maple-dominant forest. JR Sloan and his fiance, Amber, have been sugaring for 22 years through Green Mountain Mainlines, and currently manage 220 acres with 15,000 taps.
