An Afternoon with Small Ruminant Parasites (NOFA-VT Summer Workshop Series Event)

Molly Witters, VMD, from Middlebury Large Animal Clinic, will lead a discussion on internal parasites that affect small ruminants. This discussion will include types of parasites, effective ways of controlling parasites and resistance to dewormers. Bay Hammond of Doolittle Farm will present information on how herbs and homeopathy are used in connection with small ruminant parasite control. The discussion will be followed by a pasture walk to see Doolittle Farm's multispecies grazing techniques. Bring a fecal sample from your farm, and Molly will have these set and ready to read upon return from our pasture walk. This workshop is cosponsored by the Vermont Grass Farmers Association.
