1. NOFA-VT defines an apprenticeship as “an educational opportunity with some structured learning time. Apprentices are explained the “whys” and not just the “hows”, and are generally given a diversified learning experience which enables them to leave with a demonstrated depth of skill.” Willing Workers are not provided with the same kind of structured learning. Why are you seeking an apprenticeship or work opportunity on an organic farm in Vermont?
2. Name three skills that make you a desirable addition to an organic farm team (Talk about how you acquired them and how they apply to the farm experience).
3. What do you hope to take away from an experience working on an organic farm? Name three things you hope to have deep learning in over the course of the season.
4. Name an experience that changed the course of your life (Please feel free to describe the situation and the people who made it happen).
5. Provide a brief summary of your work experience within the past 5-8 years.
6. What is your relationship with physical labor (are you in shape, have you done manual labor before, etc.)?

7. If you have any medical issues and feel comfortable stating them, please provide the information below.

If you do not feel comfortable stating a medical issue, would you be willing to talk with your host farmer about them, so that they can work out a safety or back-up plan with you?

8. Please state the name, relationship, phone number or email address of people who can serve as a reference for you. They can include individuals whom you have worked, studied, or lived with within the past few years.
